The auction of Important Watches organised by Artcurial included an exclusive selection of 253 pieces from the best watch brands chosen according to their condition, rarity and quality. Total sale including expenses : 3 064 958 $ USD, selling more than 75% of the lots presented.
Lot 253 : Rolex, ref. 6239, stainless steel manual winding chronograph wristwatch, Daytona “Paul Newman” model, sold for 220 997 $ USD.
Lot 251 : Rolex, ref. 6036, stainless steel manual winding chronograph wristwatch with triple calendar, “Anti-magnetic” Dato-Compax known as “Jean-Claude Killy”, sold for 175 274 $ USD.
Lot 177 : Rolex, ref. 6265 / 6263, stainless steel manual winding chronograph wristwatch, Daytona model, 351% variation between the low estimate and the final result (79 254 $ USD).
Lot 163 : Hermes, ref. HH1.830, stainless steel and diamond set quartz wristwatch, Hour H model, 333% variation between the low estimate and the final result (7 621 $ USD).
Lot 32 : Cartier, 18k yellow gold manual winding desk clock with quarter repeaters, 303% variation between the low estimate and the final result (9 450 $ USD).

On the first step of the podium, with two lots above 150 000 $ USD and a result based on the highest bid of the sale with lot 253, average per lot 26 553 $ USD.
On the second step of the podium, with two watches exceeding 70 000 $ USD, average per lot 21 447 $ USD.
On the third step of the podium, with a watch above 150 000 $ USD, average per lot 27 577 $ USD.
These three brands represent a total revenue of 1 934 336 $ USD, or more than 60% of the sale total.
AVERAGE PRICE PER LOT
Based on the number of lots, 253 in total, including 62 unsold lots, the average price of a lot was 16 047 $ USD.
This Artcurial session confirms once again the growing role of the French auction house in the global watch market. This overall result is the highest of all sales sessions, which reaffirms Artcurial’s key role in this sector. As for Antiquorum, Rolex is in pole position on the podium but it is worth noting also the very good performance of Patek Philippe with two records for a Nautilus. With a very high percentage of sales close to 80% if we look at these two sessions Horlogerie Collection and Time is Feminine II sales, Artcurial reinforces its luxury and lifestyle positioning in Monaco.
