BREAKDOWN BY REFERENCE
On the first step of the podium, three watches having exceeded the million dollar mark, average per lot 754 681 USD. Obviously, this reference is undoubtedly the most appreciated by collectors with its many rare variants.
On the second step of the podium, including the most expensive watch of the sale, average per lot 2 100 821 USD. A result based on the highest bid of the sale with lot 8.
On the third step of the podium, including the most expensive watch of the sale, average per lot 1,171,030 USD. A result based on the highest bid of the sale with lot 32.
These three benchmarks represent a total product of USD 16,607,682, representing almost 75% of the total sales.
AVERAGE PRICE PER LOT
Given the small number of lots and 5 lots sold above $ 1 million, the average price per lot was $ 700,000 USD. Which imposes not only Rolex as the star brand of the market but also the Daytona model as the star of the brand.
Reading these results, we can deduce that the Rolex brand is undoubtedly the star brand of the auction market at the beginning of the year. Since the sale of Paul Newman’s famous Paul Newman Daytona, the market has reached unimaginable heights five years ago at the last Daytona sale in 2013. Of all these results, the main lesson remains the prices achieved by the versions equipped automatic movement, which will be the stars of tomorrow with a new generation of collectors.
