MONTRES DE COLLECTION

Aguttes 02 july 2024

Under the direction of Claire Hofmann, Aguttes will hold its 4ᵉ watch sale of the year on July 2. Bringing together a sharp selection of nearly 100 pieces, this new vacation offers enthusiasts several cult timepieces. The star of the sale is a Daytona “Paul Newman” ref. 6241 sourced directly from the original owner’s family. Kept for almost a quarter of a century in a trunk, this “sleeping beauty” is adorned with the famous “exotic” dial, the most sought-after by collectors today. Among the most attractive watches, the Daytona ref. 6239 “Floating Cosmograph” and the mythical Breguet Type XX chronograph equipped with the in-flight return function promise great bids!

LE TEMPS EST FÉMININ CÉLÈBRE PIAGET

Artcurial 9 july 2024

Since 2016, Artcurial has made women’s watchmaking one of its emblematic specialties. Under the title “Le Temps est Féminin”, twice a year, France’s leading auction house offers enthusiasts the chance to rediscover the most creative models by Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Bulgari. This year, to celebrate the 150ᵉ anniversary of the House of Piaget, Artcurial has chosen to showcase the creativity of the manufacture founded by Georges Piaget in 1874. Unique pieces, bumper watches or wristwatches, the selection is as sharp as it is wonderful. One of the sale’s star pieces is an impressive set in textured gold and lapis lazuli. Comprising a cuff watch, matching necklace and ring, this unique piece was made to order for an important Middle Eastern client. Entrusted by its original owner, this set, which can be worn like a haute couture dress, is a reminder that Yves Piaget freely drew inspiration from the world of fashion to create watches that break the codes of traditional watchmaking.
